Your Ego!

Your Ego

If you’ve ever been within a kilometer of planet Earth, you will have heard at some point the argument that “the male ego is fragile”. It is annoyingly common in the sub-genre of the Malestream Media reserved for women. Why, one wonders, would WOMEN be concerned with the strength or lack of it in the MALE ego? Because it seems that by patriarchal decree, women have been appointed Official Carers of The Male Ego. Why the (dubious) honour? Are men’s egos more fragile than women’s? No. It’s because the male ego is oversized; and it’s women’s devaluation which makes up for the “extra” in it. And since that “extra” is obtained illegitimately, the ego needs constant “pumping” too keep itself in one piece.

So what’s the course of action? Tell men to suck it up and take care of their own damn egoes. So their ego is fragile? Well, mine is non-existent. And somehow I manage to survive without expecting anyone to come to my rescue when the non-existence of my ego takes its toll on me.

I’m sure there are, Polly. But I am yet to read an article aimed at men explaining how the “female” ego is fragile and needs to be “stroked”.

Everyone takes care of their own damn egos!

Oh, I briefly (very briefly) dated a guy who was seriously insecure about his masculinity. He was trying to hook something up to the back of his TV. i don’t remember what it was…maybe the cable or a video game console or something. Anyway, he was having trouble, and I got up to take a look and he said, “No. Stay over there. If you manage to figure out how to hook this up, I’ll never be able to get an erection again.”

Gawd! Boy, do I have stories about assholes I’ve dated. Problem is, you mention it around non-feminists and you get the whole, “What’s your problem that you’re attracting these guys?” Yeah, find a way to blame the woman for the man’s bad behavior. I fucking hate that.

I think you’re going for the ones with penises BBB. That’s the problem….

Polly, I really hope I don’t offend you in any way with this, but believe me, if I could NOT go for the ones with penises, I’d do it in a nanosecond. I haven’t as of yet found a way to become a lesbian, as much as I would like to be one.

I second that, MaryTracy. Oh, and naturally is something, like one’s ego, is too big, it’s probably going to get knicked, scratched, and bumped more. Men do this to themselves. Let them suffer.
And I’ve also dated insecure and asshole guys. One or two of them being verbally abusive, I don’t even feel like going into detail about it.

Well, I have been doing some research, and there’s a lot to be said for sexuality being a choice. I really believe that. Hunger is a drive, but the food you eat is a choice and is learned behavior. Same with sex.

I find that the more bullshit I uncover about men, the less I am attracted to them. I am pretty libidinous, but just the thought of putting up with a man’s bullshit turns me off. I know I could totally be with a woman. The emotional stuff is there; it’s just adding the physical element.

Although, I will add that I am not actively seeking this out. Because I’m also realizing that romantic relationships are kinda bullshit, too. On a lark, I looked at some women seeking women ads on the net, and I was so pissed off at the ridiculousness of the whole butch-femme thing I almost puked. Gawd. Can’t people just be people? What’s the point of two women getting together if one of them has to be the “guy” and one has to be the “gal” just so the patriarchy can put them in a tidy little box? Grr.

Oh, I forgot to add the most compelling reason to become a lesbian. As Homer Simpson opined, “Public transportation is for jerks and lesbians.” I ride the bus all the time, and I’m not a jerk, so…

    😀

It was Virginia Wolf who said that women’s function was to reflect men at twice their original size. You will see this ideology demonstrated in every film, every book, every newspaper article. Men are awe-inspiring and the selfhood is built on the backs of women.

Re. lesbianism. It’s easy. Just do it! 😉

No, but seriously. Bonobobabe is right. I’ve only had one relationship (it didn’t last) because radical feminist lesbians are not thick on the ground. Quite honestly, I’d almost rather have a relationship with a Nice Guy TM than a woman-hating lesbian. And there are lots of woman-hating lesbians out there. So singledom it is then. Sigh. Being a Spinster ain’t too bad. Oh and ALL of the rad fem lesbians I’ve met are coupled!!! The unfairness!!!

Hey folks twas only a lgiht hearted remark……I am not yet about to impose compulsory lesbianism (don’t listen to rumours). Some of my best friends are straight…..

Allecto, thanks for your comment about Virginia Wold. If I was better read, I would know that 😛

And Polly, no need to to get defensive, really. We are just being sympathetic to each other for the pain that our straightness causes us. There’s more in the next post to this one!
